Recreation and Grounds Committee
The April 11, 2011 meeting of the Recreation and Grounds Committee, held at South Riding Center was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by, Charlene Jones, Committee Chair.
Members Attending: Charlene Jones, Donna Mines, Ken Walsh and Marge Morales.

Members/Guests Absent: Todd McFarland, Mark Henderson, Luis Pitarque and Steven Sebestyen.
Resident Comments: Pete & Sylvia Sovinski inquired as to when developer turnover is to happen in the area of Magistrate Court. They inquired since they would like to submit an Enhance-A-Spot Application on an Easement alongside their home.
Approval of the Minutes: Donna Mines moved to approve the March 2011 Recreation & Grounds Committee Minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded by Marge Morales. The motion passed unanimously.

Update on Fishing Pier
Staff is working on getting an architectural designer to design an appropriate pier.
Meadows Pool Expansion
Landscaping has been installed. A design overlay will be put down on the cement in the next few weeks. The Pergola will be built over the new expanded area the first week of May.
Pool Shading
All the requested shading at the pools for 2011 has been ordered.
Dog Park at Elk Lick North
Dog Park zoning – The county is working to modify County Code 612.13 as to allow Dogs “off leash” within Loudoun County. SRP will work with County Supervisors to change the legal wording in the code so that it would be legal to have an enclosed off leash dog park.
Meeting adjourned: Ken Walsh moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:00p.m. The motion was seconded by Donna Mines. The motion passed unanimously.
