Star Spangled South Riding Star Spangled South Riding
NEW LOCATION! - Dulles South Multipurpose Center Grounds - 24950 Riding Center Drive The traditions of parades, picnics, and fireworks were established by the early 1800s as the way to celebrate America’s birthday. Here in South Riding we continue that long standing tradition by gathering together for a patriotic tribute in honor of our great country and its 234th birthday. Stars and Stripes Parade: Meet in the South Riding Center parking lot at 5:30pm to get into formation with your decorated bikes, trikes, wagons, scooters, buggies and strollers. Walk as a block, club or group, team or just with friends and family. The parade will begin promptly at 6pm and will stroll down Riding Center Drive to end up at the Dulles South Multipurpose Center. The distance is short and sweet – just about 4/10 of a mile. Bring a blanket, chair, and your own picnic or purchase dinner from one of the many food vendors. Summer Menu includes: hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, french fries, fish fry, BBQ sandwiches, calzones and more! Absolutely no alcohol is permitted to be brought onto the Multipurpose Center property. However, if you are 21 or older, you may purchase beer and wine from the beverage tents but need to remain in the beer garden. ID required. Relax under the stars while enjoying the sounds of Fresh Air. The night ends with a fabulous fireworks display that has become a tradition here in South Riding. Please keep your dogs at home for their safety and the safety of others. Happy Birthday, USA! If you'd like to volunteer, contact Events@southriding.net. |
