Message from the South Riding Board of Directors regarding the Coronavirus

Mar 13, 2020

5-12-2020 Update

We are preparing a plan that would allow us to open the pools on a modified schedule when we reach Phase 2 of the governor's order. However, we will need the county Board of Health to sign off as well. We are preparing the pools and as soon as we get the approval, we intend to open Hyland and Meadows but capacity will be limited to practice social distancing.

We are doing everything in our power to salvage at least some of the pool season.

Stay tuned for updates.

3-25-20 Update

Operations staff are on site Monday through Friday but Townhall is currently closed to walk-in traffic.  The Proprietary remains operational and will be able to meet your needs via email (, website or telephone (703-327-4390).

All amenities in South Riding are currently closed, but not locked. In accordance with the Governor’s order that gatherings of more than 10 people are banned statewide, individuals who are congregating in groups of ten or more may be dispersed by Loudoun County Sheriffs.  Additionally, the Loudoun County Sheriff office may enforce “No Trespassing” on South Riding property, including playgrounds, basketball courts and other facilities. These steps are being taken to help keep our residents safe.

Trash service and landscaping will continue, and pool season preparation is underway. Staff is working on “virtual” events, including a virtual meet and greet with the bunnies via Facebook Live on April 11th!

The bottom-line is that South Riding will continue with a business as usual attitude that you can count on right now.

If you have any concerns or questions please reach out to and you will receive a timely response.

3-16-2020 Update

In an abundance of caution, the Board of Directors has decided to conduct all committee meetings via conference call for the remainder of March and April. We will post all agenda’s online and take comments via email to Statute and our governing documents allow votes on anything other than major contracts via email providing we have “unanimous consent” of all board members.

Operations should continue seamlessly with most services available online. All phone calls will be returned within 24 hours and emails will be returned by the next business day at the latest.

We will not be accepting notary appointments during this time.

We will continue to monitor and comply with County, State and Federal recommendations to keep our community, volunteers and staff safe.

We have all been inundated with updates on the COVID-19 pandemic and agree that precautions are necessary.  We are not here to give medical advice, and instead encourage everyone to stay informed by checking the CDC website or Loudoun County health department website. The reality is this is going to be disruptive to our lives for a little while.

The HOA Board and staff are following the advice of the professionals and have given anyone registered for upcoming events the option to cancel with a full refund. At this time the offices are staffed but we ask that before you come to Town Hall you first try to communicate with us by telephone or email.

The following services are available online:

Because of the limit on cleaning supplies we have closed the cardio gym until further notice.

The Board will be considering the status of upcoming community events with the goal of keeping everyone safe while mitigating any negative financial impact on the community.

Don't panic. Most individuals who get the virus do not become particularly sick. Try to look out for your neighbors who are at high risk for the virus. Bring them groceries or share supplies. We know we can always count on our residents to look out for each other.

We will continue to keep you updated with all the information as it relates to the operation of South Riding.

Conditions, concerns, and actions related to COVID-19 can change daily. SRP will continue to monitor and update its actions accordingly. The Association will provide any further updates on our website, on our Facebook page and through text and blast emails.
