POOLS
SRP Recreation plans continue to be a work in progress as we adapt to the changing requirements of reopening safely. If the Governor moves northern Virginia to Phase 1 of reopening on Friday, we will have our pools inspected as soon as possible and plan to open Town Hall Pool for limited capacity lap swim. Only 6 swimmers will be permitted at a time at 30-minute intervals for lap swim only, with one swimmer allowed per lane. SRP will provide one Covid deep clean a day, however SRP will not provide furniture since we cannot ensure we will be able to clean every chair between each use. We will not be able to guarantee this is a coronavirus free environment and each swimmer will swim at their own risk. We will provide information on scheduling procedures as we get confirmation we can move forward.

The Red Cross is not training new lifeguards at this time, so we are limited to hiring guards certified in 2019. If you or your child is certified as a lifeguard and is looking for summer employment, please visit High Sierra’s Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/highsierrapools/

PLAYGROUNDS
SRP staff will be cleaning the playgrounds on a one-time basis by May 29th and if the Governor moves us to Phase 1 on Friday, we will open playgrounds for use. Use should be limited to 10 people at a time and you must follow mask regulations issued by the governor. You will be required to wipe down the equipment after your visit.

TENNS COURTS
SRP staff will be cleaning the tennis entrance and benches and use will be permitted for single and doubles play with no more than 10 players on the courts at one time. Masks should be worn when you are not playing. You will be required to wipe down all benches and gates after each use.

DOG PARK
Use should be limited to 10 people at a time and you must follow mask regulations issued by the governor. You will be required to wipe down all gates after each use..

Use of our amenities and the enforcement regulations will be self-policed. Flagrant violations of these guidelines could result in suspension of your privileges.

We are preparing a plan that would allow us to open the pools on a modified schedule when we reach Phase 2 of the governor's order. However, we will need the county Board of Health to sign off as well. We are preparing the pools and as soon as we get the approval, we intend to open Hyland and Meadows but capacity will be limited to practice social distancing. Due to limited capacity we will not allow guests.

We are doing everything in our power to salvage at least some of the pool season.

Stay tuned for updates.
