At its October 1 meeting, the South Riding Proprietary Board of Directors voted to discontinue the Celebrate South Riding event. After thirty years, this decision reflects the increasing challenges associated with site availability and management, public safety, security, logistics, rising costs, insurance, and the uncertainties of weather and attendance.

Many nearby communities have made similar choices in recent years, as large-scale amusement ride events have become more difficult to host nationwide. Residents who enjoy carnival attractions can still experience them locally at the One Loudoun Carnival, which operates for multiple weeks each summer.

Funds previously dedicated to Celebrate South Riding will be repurposed to support a broader range of community events throughout the year—continuing our commitment to fostering connection and enjoyment for all South Riding residents.
