Steve was elected to the Board in 2019.  A twenty year resident of South Riding, and native of New Jersey, He first came to the area to attend George Washington University.  It was during these years that he began what would become a 30-year career in the Restaurant and Hospitality industry, culminating in the opening of the South Riding Inn in 2001.  He has three children, works as a Marketing Associate for Sysco Foodservice, and is a Member of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors.  He and his wife are active Members of Dulles Community Church, where he serves on the Production and Events Teams, and is grateful to have the opportunity to serve the Community and its Residents.

Michael was elected to the Board in May 2022. He previously served on the Board from 2018 to 2021 and on the Web and Tech Committee for over 9 years. Michael and family have called South Riding home since 2009.

Prior to moving to our community Michael served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. He manages the Mid-Atlantic Pen Turner’s Gathering and is a passionate wood working hobbyist and entrepreneur.

    Kevin was elected to the Board in May 2015 and re-elected May 2018.  He previously served on the Board from May 2010 to May 2013 and on the Budget & Finance Committee from 2004 to 2010.  Kevin has lived in Northern Virginia most of his life and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.  Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant and owner of a small, local CPA firm.  He has many years of experience working with homeowner’s associations and nonprofit organizations.  He brings that experience to the Board to help the community maintain its sound financial status and to help the community adapt to changes and evolve as the surrounding area continues to grow.

    Francois was elected to the Board in May 2021. He moved from Los Angeles to South Riding in 2008 with his wife and two daughters. Prior to joining the board, Francois volunteered on several occasions, including the summer festivals, community garage sales, National Night Out and clean-up activities. He has 30 years of combined experience in the Air Force and the aerospace industry as an officer, engineer and program manager. He started his career with a B.S. from the US Air Force Academy (“True Blue ’92”) and also earned a M.S., and M.B.A. from UCLA.  His goal as a member of the Board is to ensure South Riding continues to be a great and wholesome place for families to raise their children and a place where the community is active, vibrant, and prosperous.

    Mark was elected to the Board in May 2023. He and his wife are 16 year members of the South Riding Community.  He has been a memeber of the Community Standards Committee since 2018 and Chairman since 2019. He received the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2021. He has been a Union electrician for 24 years and currently work as an Organizer (recruiter) for IBEW Local 26 having held a number of supervisory roles.

    Marilyn was elected to the Board in May 2023.  Though relatively new to South Riding she has taken part in many of the community events. She has worked as an executive with several large international companies over the last 20 years. The various companies with their diversity of culture, business drivers and workforce taught her to adapt, identify top priorities and to recognize that what works at X doesn’t always work at Y.

    Michael was elected to the Board in May 2023. He and his family have called South Riding their home for over 13 years. He has served on the Website & Technology Committee for the past 6 years and has been the Chair of the Committe for 5 of those years. He brings experiences in leadership, collaboration, strategy development, project management, and cybersecurity to the board. 

    Paving our Pathway to Success

    A tradition of honoring Board of Directors members who have served the community for one full term or more was established in 2015, South Riding’s 20th anniversary. A brick inscribed with the name and term of each past member is designed and placed in our memorial around the gazebo located behind South Riding Center  (42420 Unicorn Drive).

    This tribute recognizes their commitment to making South Riding the most desirable place to live in Northern Virginia.
